SKOAH

www.skoah.com

My bestfriend has been dating his new girlfriend for a couple of months now. She is such a sweet girl; for Christmas she gave me, my sister, and our girlfriend gift certificates for a free facial at the spa that she works at. She works at Skoah, which is a really successful Canadian skin care company. I usually do not use crazy skin care products because I'm cheap and lazy (lol!). For the past 5 years, I have just been using the same Proactive products and whatever leftover face cream that I could find at my house.

The only reason why I've always used Proactive is because I used to break out really bad on my face. I found that Proactive did help, and for a few years my skin was pretty zit-free. However, just recently for the past year my skin has been horrible. I would break out in the occasional zits every month and I don't know if it was due to stress, school, the weather, or whatever nonsense was going on in my life.

So when I booked my facial and my bestfriend's girlfriend told me to ditch the Proactive because my skin was dry, I said "why not". Apparently, Proactive contains an ingredient that enters your bloodstream which I find fucked up. It is intended to dry out your skin, which is great at first because it will dry your zit out, but ultimately your skin becomes so dry that it will retain oil. The more oil on your face the more zits you get!

 Before & After
Out with the Proactive and in with the Skoah!

I decided to take a leap of faith and buy ALL new Skoah products. Honestly, my face was so soft and hydrated after my facial! My girlfriend suggested that I buy the Unkrinkle Kit by Skoah. This kit is $125 CAD before tax and it comes with face wash, toner, face cream, a mask, face towel, and travel bag. My girlfriend also hooked me up with a bunch of travel sized samples :D

Kleansing lotion: This lotion is amazing. It has a thick and soft consistency which feels like lotion on your face (duh). When you wash it off, your face is left feeling soft and clean.

Tonik: I used to always use the Proactive toner but this one is A LOT better. You just spray it onto your face after washing it with the kleansing lotion and it dries instantly. When I use it in the morning it helps wake me up lol.

Aha mask: I only use this 3 times a week because it is so strong and you don't want to over treat your skin. After I wash my face with the kleansing lotion, I put this mask on and hop into the shower. I'll spend about 10-15 minutes washing my hair and body and will wash the mask off last. It creates a tingling feeling because it is actually lifting dead and tired skin cells off your face.

Face kream: This is by far the best face cream that I have ever used. It's thick when you first put it on but it absorbs into your skin right away. My skin is soooooooooooooooo soft after I use this. And it keeps my skin hydrated so that it isn't as oily throughout the day. I'm touching my face right now and even with makeup on top, it feels like there is barely any oil on it.

So there is my little product review of the day. If you are looking for some really awesome facial products that are gentle and won't overdry your skin, then I suggest that you give Skoah a try!

SHOPPING

Okay. I ended up shopping again today. I went to the mall because I needed to buy a new yoga mat. I left my pink one in my bf's family car and I haven't seen it since. I told myself today that I was going to grab the yoga mat and exit the mall immediately.... but the temptation in Forever21 was too hard to resist lol.

The UN mat by Lululemon
$48 CAD (BUY HERE)
This is actually a lime green color.
I chose this mat because it is the thinner version of their regular yoga mats.
I like using thinner mats because #1: they are lighter to carry around
#2: they aren't squishy and are therefore more firm to stand on
#3. they are cheaper ;)

Heathered Heart Pullover by Forever21
$21.80 CAD (BUY HERE)
I saw this and it reminded me of Wildfox. It's so cute!

WISH I BOUGHT THESE:
Longline 9 Graphic Sweater by Forever 21
$27.80 CAD (BUY HERE)
This sweater reminds me of this Aritzia blouse than I wanted really bad before
Except the Aritzia one is a ripoff and around $50 CAD lol

Fairfield T-shirt by TNA (Aritzia brand)
$50 CAD (BUY HERE)
I personally like the Forever 21 version a lot better.

Studded Shoulder Sweater by Forever 21
$33.80 CAD (BUY HERE)
I want to buy a studded sweater before the fad dies out

I would wear it like this chick!
With jeans and cute buckle booties for that "rocker" look
Def won't be chopping my hair that short tho. Ever.

WINTER JACKETS

It feels like it's been getting colder and colder here in Vancouver. I HATE IT!! I have a low body temperature as it is and so I am cold 24/7. I think that it's time to buy another winter jacket. You can never have too many in my opinion... especially when you live in cold, gloomy, Vancouver.

As of this moment, there are 3 winter jackets of mine which I wear quite often. I usually buy my winter jackets + my leather jackets from this Canadian brand called Mackage (Go Canada!). I think that their down jackets are  really warm and at the same time they are really cute :D I have one bomber-style jacket from them (which I usually wear when I am scrubbed out) and another jacket which is longer and more formal.

Joey Jacket by Mackage
$550 CAD (BUY SIMILAR HERE)
This jacket is great for everyday wear.
You can dress it up with skinny jeans and Loubs, or play it down with sweats and sneakers.

Magda Jacket by Mackage
$610 CAD
I wear this jacket when I am more dressed up.
I love how the collar is lined with fur because it keeps me extra warm ;)
I got this on sale during the online winter sale but I can't remember for how much.
I think I paid around $400??

Parka by Aritzia (dunno the style)
$275 CAD (BUY SIMILAR HERE)
I bought this recently over the summer at the warehouse sale for only $99 :D
It was honestly such a good deal! It's warm but not as warm as my Mackage jackets.
I like how it is long because it keeps part of my legs dry from the rain

JACKET THAT I AM GOING TO BUY:
Adali Jacket by Mackage
$640 CAD (BUY HERE)
I am in love with this jacket. I like the fur trim and the dark blue color.
My boyfriend owes me a Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary gift (they were pretty much all on the same day)
and so I asked him to get me this jacket. Can't wait to rock it in this cold ass weather!

SOME OTHER JACKETS WORTH MENTIONING:

Chadi Jacket by Rudsak
$595 CAD (BUY HERE)
FYI: Rudsak is another Canadian company!

Gloria Jacket by Rudsak
$425 CAD (BUY HERE)

Deena Jacket by Rudsak
$745 CAD (BUY HERE)
OK... some people may think that this jacket is really tacky
But like I said... I really like fur trim lol

Chilliwack Bomber by Canada Goose
$600 CAD (BUY HERE)
Another Canadian company... yay!
I swear this post is turning into a Canadian company promotion.
Apparently this jacket is the WARMEST of the WARMEST!
It comes in a ton of cool colors too (here are my 4 fave)
What do you guys think of the hot pink one? It would be so cute to wear snowboarding IMO.

ADD Jackets
$???? (I can't find any for purchase online)
ADD is an Italian brand. You are able to buy these jackets at a few stores here in
Vancouver such as Holt Renfrew or Bluebird, but I can't seem to find any online.
I love these two styles because of the belts that they come with.

IPHONE CASES

I went a little psychotic just now and spontaneously bought 3 new iPhone cases off of Ebay.
What do you guys think?
I'm in love with the Marc Jacobs one!

LULULEMON WAREHOUSE SALE

Vancouver Canada News Lululemon Warehouse Sale 2013 BC PlaceThe only time where me and my sister will willingly wake up at 5am... is when there is a warehouse sale. LOL! This year, Vancouver got to host the Lululemon Warehouse sale (which is a rare thing) and since I am in total fitness mode, I just hadddddddddddd to go. If you are in the Vancouver area then you have probably already heard about the sale since it has been all over the news, but if not, then you still have tomorrow as it is the last day!

FYI: my sister and I are hardcore warehouse-salers (I coined this term myself). There are only a few warehouse sales that we go to every year. I would say that we are pretty professional at what we do lol. The lululemon sale didn't start until 8am yet we were up at 5am, arrived at the place by 6am to be one of the first people in line, waited 2 hours in the freezing cold, and attacked those sale racks once we were in! It's important to leave your bag at home because you have to coatcheck your bag and jacket anyways. I kept my credit cards in my Louis Vuitton keychain, and then I hooked my keychain around my watch so that I didn't have to hold onto it while I shopped. Pretty creative huh? After 3 hours of shopping and scrimaging around, I left with 5 items for $130, my sister bought 7 items for $180, and my gf bought 7 items for $370 (4 cropped workout pants + 3 long-sleeved tops).

My snazzy dazzy key holder haha!

Apparently this was completely filled up for hours. The lineup to get in was over an hour long.

Global TV decided to come and film all the keen shoppers! My sister and I refused to be seen on TV so we tried to run away when the reporter asked us a few questions.

My goodies!!
Black cashmere gloves - $9.00 CAD
Headband - $4.00 CAD
2 toned workout pants - $56.00 CAD
Pink bra top - $22.00 CAD
Invicta workout pants - $39.00 CAD
*NOTE: Invicta is the children's version of Lululemon. I fit their size 14!

If you are interested in checking out the Lululemon website...

DRESS LIKE KYLE & KENDAL

So today was my last day of a 2 week orientation to term 5 of the nursing program that I am in. Let's just say that it was a looooooooooooong 2 weeks of staring into space and shopping online to keep myself "awake". Today was an especially boring day and so like always, I searched the web for cheap deals and cute clothes. I somehow ended up on a blog entirely devoted to giving readers the links to items that Kendal and Kylie Jenner wear. I was amazed!! The blog is called Hey it's Jenna (CLICK HERE) and I highly recommend following her.

Heyitsjenna.com/blogspot

There were so many things on the blog that I wanted to buy. Kendal and Kylie Jenner have such great taste in fashion! But then again, so would I if I was filthy rich lol. There was one shirt in particular that really caught my eye. The Parker top by Fluxus which is a long-sleeve top that can be worn off the shoulder. Super cute! I decided to go and buy it.

The top is a little hard to find and usually retails for $78 CAD. I finally found a website that had the top in stock, but being the broke student that I am, I decided to keep searching for the lowest price possible. I finally found the exact same top on sale on Bluefly.com for only $31.85 USD!!! I wasn't sure what size to get so I grabbed the XS (it was the last one). I'm kind of wishing that I had gotten the small instead so that it is more of a looser fit but I can always exchange the size after.

(BUY HERE)

I had never heard of Fluxus before but I was browsing their clothing online and I really like what I see! I have a feeling that I'll be buying more of their clothing and from what I can see online, a lot of celebrities are big fans of Fluxus as well (which makes the brand even better lol).

SOME FLUXUS EYE CANDY:

^^ This is the same top that I bought online!!
