SKOAH

www.skoah.com

My bestfriend has been dating his new girlfriend for a couple of months now. She is such a sweet girl; for Christmas she gave me, my sister, and our girlfriend gift certificates for a free facial at the spa that she works at. She works at Skoah, which is a really successful Canadian skin care company. I usually do not use crazy skin care products because I'm cheap and lazy (lol!). For the past 5 years, I have just been using the same Proactive products and whatever leftover face cream that I could find at my house.

The only reason why I've always used Proactive is because I used to break out really bad on my face. I found that Proactive did help, and for a few years my skin was pretty zit-free. However, just recently for the past year my skin has been horrible. I would break out in the occasional zits every month and I don't know if it was due to stress, school, the weather, or whatever nonsense was going on in my life.

So when I booked my facial and my bestfriend's girlfriend told me to ditch the Proactive because my skin was dry, I said "why not". Apparently, Proactive contains an ingredient that enters your bloodstream which I find fucked up. It is intended to dry out your skin, which is great at first because it will dry your zit out, but ultimately your skin becomes so dry that it will retain oil. The more oil on your face the more zits you get!

 Before & After
Out with the Proactive and in with the Skoah!

I decided to take a leap of faith and buy ALL new Skoah products. Honestly, my face was so soft and hydrated after my facial! My girlfriend suggested that I buy the Unkrinkle Kit by Skoah. This kit is $125 CAD before tax and it comes with face wash, toner, face cream, a mask, face towel, and travel bag. My girlfriend also hooked me up with a bunch of travel sized samples :D

Kleansing lotion: This lotion is amazing. It has a thick and soft consistency which feels like lotion on your face (duh). When you wash it off, your face is left feeling soft and clean.

Tonik: I used to always use the Proactive toner but this one is A LOT better. You just spray it onto your face after washing it with the kleansing lotion and it dries instantly. When I use it in the morning it helps wake me up lol.

Aha mask: I only use this 3 times a week because it is so strong and you don't want to over treat your skin. After I wash my face with the kleansing lotion, I put this mask on and hop into the shower. I'll spend about 10-15 minutes washing my hair and body and will wash the mask off last. It creates a tingling feeling because it is actually lifting dead and tired skin cells off your face.

Face kream: This is by far the best face cream that I have ever used. It's thick when you first put it on but it absorbs into your skin right away. My skin is soooooooooooooooo soft after I use this. And it keeps my skin hydrated so that it isn't as oily throughout the day. I'm touching my face right now and even with makeup on top, it feels like there is barely any oil on it.

So there is my little product review of the day. If you are looking for some really awesome facial products that are gentle and won't overdry your skin, then I suggest that you give Skoah a try!

    1. Hey! Yes.... it can be. It's a LOT of work. I'm actually very sleep deprived right now lol because I have online postings due at Midnight so I've been scrambling to get them done (I have 4 of them). The amount of reading they expect you to do is insane!!!

BUT... it's the most rewarding job being a nurse. I am 100% sure that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life :) I'm currently placed in the community setting for school because they want us to experience what it's like to be a community nurse. The area that I'm at right now is in one of the poorest places in the world, with a large number of homelessness, mental illness, and drug addiction. But I've never met so many truly nice people in my life. Nursing teaches you to drop the stereotypes and assumptions that you've been carrying and to see people for who they really are.

Sorry this is kinda long but I hope it helps! xoxo
